A quarter century

Let me first say how much I hate the fact that I’m 25 now. I feel old, even though many will assure me that 25 is not that old. But I feel old because I feel too old to be where I am right now in life.

Aside from a bit (Ha!) of bitterness, I did have a happy weekend. Teh Boyfriend surprised me by taking me out for dinner to West Friday night, where we dined in high style and sipped sparkling water. The blue fin tuna tataki was especially good, but the most enjoyable was the two tiny scoops of coconut chocolate chip ice cream that came with the dessert. That was heavenly. Before the food came (and before I could whip my camera out to take pics), Teh Boyfriend got me to open my present, which turned out to be a brand new camera! I know! I am one spoiled, luky [sic] girl, that’s for sure. :D

Saturday night, I went out for dinner with some friends. The numbers were smaller compared to last year, but that’s because many were either busy out of town, at some concert, at work, or entertaining visiting relatives. *Sniffle* The lovely few who did manage to make it out joined me at Kingyo, a new Japanese izakaya that just opened up a week before. The food was great. And cheap. And surprisingly filling. We topped the night off with some gelato. I foolishly forgot to replicate the coconut chocolate chip ice cream I had the night before. Phooey. Oh well, my mango/coconut combo was still sweet, but not diabetic like Myke’s gelato non-gelato. That was just too much.

So now that my birthday festivities are over and done with, it’s time to plan for Teh Boyfriend’s birthday! Unlike me, he is looking forward to turning 25.

  2. only because I won’t have to pay extra to rent cars. Last real obstacle. I’d be happy to stay 25 after!
