In no particular order. Well, except when it comes to Michael Cera. He is totally #1.

Two-Sixy

I didn’t plan on returning from my unplanned (and unannounced) hiatus today. To be honest, I didn’t really want to start writing in here again until I felt that I had a firm grasp on my life. Well, I’m not there yet, but I think I’ve moved closer in the past few months that I’ve gone missing. It’s been enlightening, scary, stressful, tense, and reassuring all at the same time.

As I officially surpass the quarter-century mark, I’m no longer just deathly afraid of what’s ahead; a small part of me is now pretty excited about it all, too. Wow, progress. Looks like I may have gotten a year wiser.

…or perhaps more foolish? Oh, I really hope not.

I’m gonna get you love drunk off my humps

Tracy’s birthday was last week, and for whatever reason, the celebration was split into two nights. Dinner at Joey’s on Thursday, which was mediocre. I had the butter chicken and they didn’t even give me basmati rice. Booo. We, or rather, Teh Boyfriend, makes much better butter chicken at home. The other disappointment of that evening was being shafted of a real prize after acing Miss Tong’s test. Seeing as I am the competitive type, I actually put in effort to remember people’s names and my awesome memory was rewarded with a bag of caramel corn. Which, delicious. But! Everyone got a bag, and none of them even participated in the contest. Phooey. What a waste of my brain cells! That’s the last time I pay attention to people I don’t care about! :P

I was still looking forward to Saturday night though since we would be stretching our vocal chords at Fantacity. It’s been a few months since my last karaoke session, and I was itching to see what new songs had been added to the books. How psyched was I when I discovered SexyBack, My Love, London Bridge (Sadly, I never got to sing this one even though I am certain I punched it in), Crazy (Gnarls Barkley, not Britney), I Bet You Look Good On The Dancefloor, Lala, and Confessions of a Broken Heart (Daughter to Father)!!! I was utterly heartbroken, however, when I learned that Lindsay Lohan’s touching tribute to her damaged relationship with her father was a remix version. There was no way I could wail “Daughter to father! Daughter to father!” to a dance track. The song is a ballad and performing it otherwise would’ve been a disgrace to the sanctity of Lindsay’s artistic vision. Unless I snorted a rail of coke or ten in the bathroom beforehand and then proceeded to promptly drive my car into a tree afterwards. But that was not possible. At least not that night. We had walked from the apartment.

Anyhoohahey, I did get to totally work My Humps, much to the birthday girl’s delight, which prompted her to capture all of it on video. It’s true that I enjoy singing the overtly sexual / novelty songs. But I had no idea I was synonymous with them until that night. The sad (impressive?) thing is, I didn’t drink a drip of alcohol. That’s right. I did it all sober. I think I’m proud. But I’m definitely not proud enough to post the video for all to see.

You’re the inspiration

I am a Lovin’ Machine!

I wasn’t sure if it was possible, but I finished Elite Beat Agents. Like really finished it. I tapped my way to the highest rank possible. I had no idea I could be this awesome.

Moero! Nekketsu Rhythm Damashii Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan 2
, the sequel to the Japanese orisinal [sic], just came out, too. So really, my timing could not be more perfect. *Ahem* :P

It’s time to save…

As I was coming down the escalator from Winners this afternoon, I noticed a poster to my right, advertising the store with the headline, “It’s time to save…” Immediately, my mind filled in the ellipses with “The World!” Then my eyes read on, “Third Floor.” To which my mind was like, “It’s time to save…third floor? That doesn’t make sense.”

A split second after that, I realized just what exactly it was saying. It’s time to save money! Duhhh.

Wow, okay, that’s three posts in a row about Heroes now. This is so not healthy.

Edit: Um, upon another visit to Winners, I realized that the poster is actually, “Get ready to save…” Regardless, I still jumped to that Heroes reference, so this new revelation doesn’t really change anything, does it?
